Birmingham skipper Stephen Carr is out for up to six months after having surgery on his knee injury, while Darren Ambrose remains a doubt.
Meanwhile striker Nikola Zigic (foot) and defender Curtis Davies (ankle) look set to return after injury.
Bolton have no new injury concerns and hope to name the same squad from Saturday's 2-1 win over Watford.
